Hi Jim !Me too having the same problem.I don't think the Application Data folder is marked as Read Only, but will check and report back a.s.a.p. ...What is supposed to create such an error message, anyway ?Regards,Eugenio (Italy).

Yup, it surely is a networked install !!!As for my setup, no firewall on either pc.Which are the "proper folders", and with which precise name must they be shared ?My FS9 folder is shared over the LAN as a network resource named "FS2004" ... what's more ?Eugenio

My folders are also shared. AS6 loads the correct weather at the location I'm at. So it's reading the server folders across FSwide network. My problem is the error message when AS6 is started.Bill M

Me too ...I fly offline and use downloaded weather; AS, after refreshing, seems able to write the new weather to the FS machine, say, by producing different coverage/pressure/precipitation, or whatever else, changing the weather generated upon FS startup at the starting location. But Jim was talking about "folderS", so I guess how many other there are, which must be specifically shared ...

Hi All,Installing ASv6.5 on a networked computer over WideFS 1. On the separate non-FS computer, unpack the installation .zip file to a temporary location, such as C:ASTEMP (Do not install ASv6.5 on the FS computer).2. Run the Setup.exe program to launch the installation process.3. Follow the on-screen prompts.4. Setup networking and sharing so both computers have full access to each other, especially in all FS and ASv6 related paths. You will need to share the ASv6 Folder (on the ASv6.5/WideFS computer) and the FS Folder (on the FS computer) as well as the Application Data Folder (in the FS computer

Thanks Jim, having already read this part of the manual, and having just solved the problem last night, I would only add the following info, for the benefit of Bill and all other users ...Looking at my setup, it turned out that simply sharing the root drive of the server pc was not enough (and please don't ask ME why ...).Having noticed that the error message was generated straight at AS startup, I opened and examined the AS .ini file, and found the lines which pointed to both FS9 path and to the PersonalAppData folder path (expressed with network syntaxe of servernamesharedfoldername).I then shared this last folder individually. So I restarted AS, et voil
