X-Graphics and UTX Roads

Featured Replies

Quick questions and sorry if its been ask.I noticed some of my roads are jagged. 90% are not.I have UTX loaded and X-graphics.Do I need to do anything special or does whichever is loaded last over write the other? And while I am here.I also have GEX.Follow up- If any of these programs, X-Graphics,UTX,GEX ect have textures for simular features, roads, water, autogen, runways, lights ect, does the last one ran simply replace or overwrite the existing one or can they "double up" a texture leading to anomolies, problems or decreased performance. Thanks ahead of time. Jim

Hi Jim,I too have UTX and do not notice the roads issue.Correct, last in is what is displayed. There is no "double ups" only over-writes. What I always suggest is install UTX, GEX and then un-mark any duplicate textures in X Graphics Advanced options to prevent "over-writes".Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

Its the least of my problems but I am trying to solve them as I go along. Thanks, Jim

HI Jim,About the jagged texture, I think this appears when the texture are not rendered completly yet, then it's rendered correctly (Ms rendering system). Also you can test 1m resolution and 1 cm, the ground texture are better rendered with 1cm, like road, railroad, many things at the ground texture use better rendering with 1cm.ThanksChris Willishttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-dev-sigbanner.jpg

I am one of those CURSED with the Nvidia menu CTDs and also cannot get full aa/af.I was using the semi reliable Nhancer method to get aa/af to work which it never really did. With Nhancer, everything looks good but runways, taxiways, building faces, any "straight lines, appear wavy.I have tried EVERYTHING and there are alot of us out there with this problem.I finally removed Nhancer and went back to older 164s Nvidia drivers.I get a decent screen but when flying, it almost looks like heat buildup from a road in the summer. In the distance, there is a wavy, slightly blurred look.Airports are a little better but still, any atraight line is wavy and building faces are psychedelic looking.I have watch long straight roads off my 9 oclock appear jagged and broken "morph" into straight ones. But the overwhelming majority are fine.BTY- I am XP,SP2,8800GT,2 gigs. Recent OS format.
