May 26, 200818 yr Hello all,First posting on this forum, so please be tolerant.I have two systems and have WideFS + registered FSUIPC.System 1 Vista os with ASKY installed working as client on WideFSSystem2 XP os with FS9 & Asky installed. The initial set-up was done by a mate and my son, because to put it bluntly. My knowledge could be written on the back of a postage stamp i.e paths are what I walk on and maps I use to find the paths in the first place.Ok previous to installing GEPro on system2. I could fire up FS9 and start ASky on system1. I know the communications are working as I get the scroll bar showing weather updates etc on the System2 screen.Having installed GEPro, if I start GEPro it then starts ASKY on system2.If I fire up wideserver and then Asky on system 1, load a flight plan and then start GEpro on system2 it still starts Asky on system2.If i press the GE button on the SYS1 , it comes back with cannot find GEPro.If the answer to this is complicated, I'll print it out for the next time No2 Son visits.Regards JohnT
May 26, 200818 yr Hi John and Welcome,The simple way:On the system that will be the server: have FS and FSUIPC installed. On the system that will be the client: have AS, GEP installed along with WideFS.Do not have multiple installs of AS or GEP. I realize you don't need the reasons behind all of this, you just want things to work! Please let us know if you need more help!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 26, 200818 yr Author Thanks Jim,Sods law rides again, got AS (or one of them) on the client, but have GEPro and WideFS on the server.Well coincidently, just had a call from the lad who installed wide FS. He foolishly tells me to expect a visit, guess what comes next. Thanks for the info, he will be in touch no doubt. Many regards JohnT
May 28, 200818 yr Author Hi Jim,Tried to install GEPro onto the other m/c by placing a copy of GE_PRO_Setup|| into the FSS shared folder then running it as Admin. It loaded but came back with invalid licence. Then tried using the original purchasing module, that came back with error 76. So how do I install this program onto my second CPU?Regards JohnTPS Can I also transfer the additional texture sets across to the other m/c or assuming I can get past the first problem, need to generate them all over again?
May 29, 200818 yr Hi,Reinstall fresh, not sure what error 76 is. I know you have a post in at Flight1 about the other stuff. GEP is really not our software, but I do know a few things about it, but not everything.Thanks!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
