Lots of stuttering...

New to ASX. I get a lot of stuttering. Can anyone provide basic tips for setup? Q6600 with 8800GTX.Keith

Jim, Thanks for responding. OK. I am using the default settings with automatic updates set to 30 minutes. I lowered the cloud distance to 60 miles, and the stuttering is very short but very noticeable, it is almost like the sim has lost its smoothness. So it isn't PRONOUNCED but it is continual, a loss of fluidity as I control the aircraft, or pan my view, the panning is choppy.I tried saving and loading a saved WX file and it does the same thing.Keith

Thanks again. I tried FSX weather and it does not stutter. I admit that I never tried FSX weather before, because I have owned ASwxre, AS2004, AS5 and AS6. When I upgraded to FSX, I thought I had to get the latest Active Sky. I have 4 gigs of PC6400 running on Vista Home Premium 64. Very smooth without Active Sky.

Jim:Sorry to take so long to respond. I have resolved the problem by changing drivers. I went back to Nvidia 169.25s. Now I was wondering how to help ASX display overcast. It seems to render overcast as broken clouds.Keith

Jim: I'm making progress here. I locked my fps and increased my cloud coverage. For once, I am glad that i spent the extra dollars for the GTX video card. Thanks so much for your help.Keith
