1. I know that this was an old post, but I have successfully integrated the Flight1 EFD1000 into the A36 cockpit with the RealityXP GNS. Kaydub
2. I think it has been repaired, now. Kaydub
3. It was for me because the trim wheel was no longer on a USB. The USB conflicted with my sounds. It also left the trim setting wherever the autopilot had it at the moment that I disengage the autopilot so that there were no big pitch changes at crucial moments. Kdub
4. I've heard this about the AS 350, which is the reason that I have not bought it. The Bell is not as bad, so I hear, and I have the 407. I can say that it is controllable, but still lacks inertia in the roll axis. I like the 407, but I've given up on X-Plane because of these roll issues. I prefer to do precision hovering and if you look at the YouTube videos of the Dreamfoil 407, you can see that it is constantly rolling in even the best conditions. I'm back to FSX and the Dodo. Kdub
5. That is what I found. My 780 restored the frame rate... Kdub
6. Hi all: I am wondering if the FMS popup for the UNS-1 works with FSUIPC mouse macros? The reason that I ask is that in anticipating the King Air release, I would like to know whether I will be able to use my cockpit hardware... Thanks, Kdub
7. It depends. My 780 made a big difference in clouds and down low near autogen. Really smoothed out the stutters down low. Kdub
8. The Flight1 does not require beta or any other manipulation to slow down on the approach. Flaps full and if you want to slow down in a hurry, full forward props does a good job. I normally land per the book, props at cruise setting to keep the noise down and full prop after touchdown...no problem to cross the threshold at 95 kts, even at almost gross. Kdub
9. Just flew it "home" to KBFI. 31L on the G1000 was flawless, ATC asked for 180 knots up to LACKR because of a fast mover behind me. Intercepted the GS, pushed full props, approach flaps @ 170 knots followed by gear and then full flaps at 500 feet, crossed threshold at 96 knots and touched down just past the numbers and made second turnoff to clear runway for the heavy on final. It is a beautiful bird if you like G1000 King Airs. It is not a Proline model, and I am running an i7 at 4.8 with a GTX 780. Really, folks, if you want a King Air now, you should get this one. Rudder boost, prop governor, starter only to clear fuel from an engine that didn't light, generator switches with reset, engine anti-ice, autofeather...the list goes on! If these features mean nothing to you, well, try it! You may like it.
10. I had a very satisfying flight tonight. KFHR to KGEG. 295 knots TAS nice transition to RWY 21 and NO problems with any aspect of the flight. A very nice plane, IMHO. I'm an F1 B200 fan for sure. Kdub
11. Yeah, but I was not as happy with my GTX580 purchase as I am with my GTX780. The 580 with SGSS was fine in the clear without a glass cockpit, but because I bought it to smooth out the Mustang, and it didn't eliminate the frame and stutter issues, I was not as satisfied as I am now. However, as you said, to each their own. The 780 is awfully expensive... Kdub
12. I like the way that you nuance your response. The AA setting can be run with an 8800GT , but it won't be as smooth in the clouds or with the glass cockpits. I'm not speculating here, I have seen the difference on my F1 Mustang. I had an 8800 GTX on my PC and flying turns over Seattle always produced stutters and fluctuating frame rates. I was turning down the scenery level and was unable to run the 1/2 monitor refresh vsync setting in NVidia Inspector. The 780 made this possible. It stays locked at 30 frames and is smoother even during approaches in cloudy conditions. Is it worth $650? Only the buyer can say. The opinions vary. I am glad that I now have a 780, but I don't know whether the OP will find it to be worth the cost. Some claim that a 4770k is only 10% faster cycle per cycle than a 2600. Is that worth the cost? If he can't get his Haswell to 4.4 like his 2600 will he still see the difference? As I said, maybe. Possibly. Kdub
13. Maybe. But...if you get the Haswell clocked to 4.8 like NickN has demonstrated, the 580 will not be able to complement the kind of performance that the Haswell is capable of. With the 2600 at 4.4 the 580 is not hindering the CPU much, if at all. If you go with the Haswell, you won't know what the CPU can really do unless you have the 780 with it. Kdub
14. Same here. It is a little smoother all around, but really noticeable in clouds and with the Flight1 G1000 planes. There it made a big difference because you can run the SGSS settings without the huge performance drop. Kdub
15. Absolutely! +1! Kdub
16. The switch sound issue has been acknowledged. If you don't have any other twins to compare it to, you can't see how superior this bird is, IF you want systems stuff. It flies much closer to the book than the other FSX King Airs. Kdub You are right. Rudder boost has nothing to do with turn coordination. Flight1 did not say that it does. It is a misconception. Kdub We'll all see whether this matter can be resolved without messing up other factors. Realair said with the introduction of the Turbine Duke that the FSX turboprop model is a compromise under the best of circumstances. I will admit that I am more than satisfied with the B200 as is. I have flown the Cheyenne, Turbine Duke, Aeroworx B200, Carenado C90, ISDT and the Jetprop. This is in another class all by itself. Kdub
17. I have an SSD. No problem here... Kdub
18. OK. First thoughts. After downloading the x86 version of the C++ runtimes for my win64 OS, (I had to do this to get the options icon operational), I took it around the pattern at the B 737 factory. Without a weather add-on, it is like most turboprops, just a little too stable for me...BUT! I fired up FSGlobal and now it's real nice! What I like is the significant amount of rudder necessary to coordinate turns and the sense of size the FDE provides. You don't fly this bird with your fingertips. The frame rate is quite frankly, very good. Now, I'm running a 2600k at 4.9 GHz with an SSC EVGA 680, but the improvement over the Mustang is very pronounced. Much smoother. And I haven't disabled any of the glass. More to come.

Kdub
19. Flight1 is talking about tomorrow if nothing "blows up"... Kdub
20. Doesn't the FAA require RVSM above 28,000? And I heard that the Duke will only hold 10,000 feet of cabin pressure to FL260. Just asking. Kdub
21. What about RXP integration? Does it have it? For which gauges? Kdub
22. Well, it depends upon the use of the videocard. If you have a plane with a glass cockpit like the Flight1 G1000 series, the SGSS takes away the "shimmers" and the 600 series is better at that than the 500 series. If you are flying in clouds the 600 series is superior. I went from a 580 to a 670 and the Flight1 birds were smooth in Seattle for the first time. I was impressed enough to return the 670 that I got for a great price and shell out another $125 for a 680 which is even better. You need to be smart about this, though. If you can't afford it or you don't fly glass cockpits or you don't care about flying IMC then it surely is not wise to give up a 500 series for a 600. Kdub
