June 13, 200817 yr I just bought Active Sky X. At high altitudes, the winds aloft are changing direction and speed constantly causing havoc on my Level-D 767. Anone know how to fix this?Heliflyr
June 13, 200817 yr Hi,Which wind smoothing options are you using?FSUIPC being used? Please let us know.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
June 13, 200817 yr Hi Jim,I'm using the default settings with the wind shift stabilization and wind data smoothing boxes checked. I'm using FUIPC 4.28 unregistered. I'm getting violent wind shifts. The velocity is not a problem. It's the instant changes in the wind direction.EXP: during a climb I was getting this 340@74 to 189@74 FL277 217@75 to 283@77 FL282 (auto pilot kicks off) 234@67 FL305 259@67 FL315 227@66 FL323 238@54 FL332 Again the change in the direction is instant and not gragual.ThanksFloyd
June 13, 200817 yr Hi,Try with Enable Wind Shift Stabilization turned Off.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
June 14, 200817 yr Hi again,It didn't work. I was getting 44/64 to 114/64 FL356then it switched to 114/64 to 354/64 FL357 It's not constant but it is frequent. More than I like. If it did it once through the whole flight I could live with it. It's making my throttles, A/S Ind and the V/S Ind go crazy with the changing of wind directions. Again this is with the Level-D 767. I'm waiting to see if anybody on that forum has an answer. ThanksFloyd
June 14, 200817 yr Take a look at the Is ASX giving me grief? topic. I'm getting exactly the same thing. It's a real pain, but I 'm sure HiFi can work it out.
June 14, 200817 yr Hi,Now try with the wind smoothing box unchecked.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
June 15, 200817 yr So, having arrived at LTAI a couple of nights ago in my DA Fokker 100, an eventful trip. (see earlier post) Yesterday I did a bit of hedge hopping around LTAI in my shiny new Nemeth Designs EC135 and the FSX 206.I have not changed my ASX setup, from that posted on this forum earlier. But a couple of times, just as I was lifting when sudden short gusts of several knots, 40 or more, ripped through and almost put me on the deck. And once, when flaring to land, a sudden gust pushed me back up into the air a couple of hundred feet. Now let
June 16, 200817 yr The answer for eratic winds aloft is "Install FSUIPC to fix the winds aloft issue and of-course pay for it as well" I for one am sick of this answer (sorry Jim) but it realy is a joke.I have asked a few times now when ASX will have this issue fixed with no responce. If I didn't know better I would say you and Pete are in business together. It cannot be too hard to fix these wind changes if Pete has done it with FSUIPC! If it couldn't be done then Pete couldn't do it either. With SimConnect, ASX should not require any other program to fix this wind issue as 180@90 then 360@90 and so on is just not right. (example only) The data FSX is recieving is from ASX as SimConnect is just the transfer of this data. As stated if FSUIPC can filter this data before FSX then why can't ASX filter it before it goes to SimConnect?Jim please let us know if you are working on a fix (that doesn't require FSUIPC) as this is not even close to real weather, if it was, the ground would be littered with "real aircraft"RegardsSteve
June 16, 200817 yr Hi Steve,We are constantly attempting to improve ASX.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
June 18, 200817 yr dispite the latest version i am still getting terrible wind changes too making asx nearly unusable and i have tried smoothing on /off stabilization on /off and all the fsuipc settings aswell still the samekav
June 18, 200817 yr and why does the weather not change when i change the setting, i tried to dosable wind alft to save the aircraft crashing applied and refreshed ye the winds remainedsame with other settingskav
June 18, 200817 yr Hi kav,Is this with Online weather or weather you are creating?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
June 18, 200817 yr online weather but i eventually tried to disable the winds aloft via the wx config because the wind shifts were severe and have been so for the majority of the flight from vhhh to eglleventually after some tries and a long wait i managed to disable the winds, one one occasion it took 20 minutes for the winds to disapear after i had applied the changekav
June 24, 200817 yr Hi JimI understand that you cannot disclose things for commercial reasons but, that is a "political non answer" you supplied!!To put my question differently I would like to know the following please;........Is HiFi working on a fix/upgrade to enable people to use your software without the need to buy and run FSUIPC to stop the eratic wind changes aloft?........Some people do not want or require FSUIPC.If you are in a commercial set up with Pete then thats fine although the users of your product should be informed as to the requirement to run this software before they part with their money. If your not in a commercial set up with Pete then I don't see what the problem is in letting us know what is happening and an expected time of release etc as the software is just no use as it is.Sorry to be a "pain in the backside" over this but I just hate buying software and then getting told I need to donate more money to someone else to get it to work. Thats just not right.RegardsSteve
