July 7, 200817 yr Hi Jim,As I see, distant stratus clouds do not show properly recently.I tried with the FS9 weather option (distance showing clouds) increasing & decreasing values but no good. The clouds are depicted with a pencil-like contour, slightly greyer and not reallistic, as they used to be. No problem with the clouds being closer. Any ideas ? Also sometimes clouds are shown sharply cut(!) with a missing sector looking like a perfect rectangle.Another bothering issue is that sometimes ASv6 (build 536) doesn't follow the departure airport baro pressure (QNH), but that of the arrival one several hundreds NM away. I restart ASv6, but no good. The latter happened twice in SLVR, in two flights SLVR-SLLP & SLVR-SBGR, but in other regions too.Following all these issues, do you think that I must re-install ASv6?Thank you,Sotiris. July 8, 200817 yr Hi,For the cloud issue: please make sure that clouds are set to 100% 3D inside FS. It could also be your cloud textures. Are you using ASG cloud textures? Sometimes it is a bad video driver that causes this also. Are you forcing any options in AS? I do have another user with this same issue, but I can't reporduce this on my end. Attach your ASv6.ini file for your settings.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
July 8, 200817 yr Author OK Jim,Many thanks for sorting out issues 1 & 3 with your help. About those sharp "cuts" in the cloud mass, what else should I look into to eliminate them ?I use an ATI Radeon X1800 with the most suitable driver I tested, namely 7.12. I think that X1800 is still a powerful video card.Sotiris. Sotiris Stavrakis
July 9, 200817 yr Hi,Can you give me a screen shot of those clouds?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
July 9, 200817 yr Author As it doesn't appear every time I fly, I 'll watch out to "catch" it.FSscreen zipped file will give me ~500KB. Do avsim forum upload rules accept that size ?Sotiris. Sotiris Stavrakis
July 10, 200817 yr Hi,No, but then e-mail them to me, any size: [email protected],Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
July 12, 200817 yr Author Jim,I reinstalled ASv6 build 536 and I am now testing the reinstalled ASG cloud textures to see whether the problem reappeares or not. If there it is again, I 'll send you some screenshots. I did again the SLVR-SLLP flight with the "Force destination wx" unchecked but still in SLVR the baro pressure was not the actual METAR one ,but the one of SLLP. Strange...Sotiris Sotiris Stavrakis
