August 4, 200817 yr I'm just beginning to use ASX and use it along with Radar Contact. I have noticed situations where the ASX METAR readout for a station did not match the Radar Contact ATIS or ACARS reporting of the Wx. In playing around with ASX I noticed that there is often a difference between the GMT timestamp of the most recent WX file downloaded (and perhaps explicitly saved) and the GMT timestamp associated with a particular station. As an example, I started ASX up while at KSFO, the downloaded/saved Wx file timestamp was 1356Z. Yet the information reported in the REPORT and WX CONFIG pages was 1256Z. Note that I clicked on "CURRENT" to get the most recent METAR report and yet there was still the difference. During the flight I would cross-check the timestamp of the downloaded WX against that of what is reported on the REPORT and WX CONFIG pages. The only way I could get them to sync is if I manually entered a time that was past the most recent downloaded file. Then, on a few occasions, they would sync up - but not always.I would expect that ASX would reference the most-recent downloaded information all all of the REPORT, MAP, and WX CONFIG pages.Meanwhile, I'm slowly getting up to speed on ASX - the improvements over AS6 are much appreciated.Thanks.-michael
August 4, 200817 yr Commercial Member Hi Michael,The file date timestamp is based on your current time/date (GMT). The actual METAR reports will be what has been received up until that point. Since there is an inherent delay in receiving METAR reports, which are issued approximately every hour, your experience is perfectly normal and expected. At 1356Z the 1355 METAR reports just were created about 1 minute ago, but have yet to get through distribution into the network and onto our servers. At approximately 14:10Z you should have received most of the 1355Z METARs. Hope that makes sense? Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

Thanks.-michael
August 4, 200817 yr Hi,Yes, because based on the timings of when you start ASX and the next update you can get that first update faster. But after that, it makes no difference. Some of us set ASX and ASv6.5 to 60 minute intervals knowing that the data could be one hour off until the next update.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
