Online mode vs. Offline mode

After an interuppted internet connection when ASX switches to offline mode does it automatically switch back to online mode when the connection is back or do you have to shut it down and restart it? I try a refresh WX but not to sure if that works or not by looking at the log file on the main page.

Hi Dave,Not sure that ASX even switches automatically on an interrupted Internet connection. I know it does if you load an Offline weather file. But to answer your question: you can just go to the settings page and make the switch. No need to shut down, and no, a refresh will not do it because you would just be refreshing the Offline data. Hope this makes sense!!Thanks, Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

Yea it switches to offline on an interuppt. Not sure what the timeout is. I didn't see any offline online switch on the settings page except maybe the auto download weather option which is enabled anyway.

Jim,I am using the latest build of ASA. I ran into this issue. My internet connection dropped for a minute and I clicked 'OK' on ASA to go to offline mode. When I restarted my internet connection after reading this post I checked to make sure that automatic downloads was enabled. I clicked the 'refresh' button but as you said earlier it will only refresh offline content. I then went to the historical tab , online dynamic data and clicked apply button. The settings on the online dynamic data was todays date, and 0 hour and 0 minute. GMT selected. Did I do the correct procedure to get ASA back on online mode?Thank you.Kind regards,Jerel

Hi,You should go the the Options screen and check the Automatic Downloads box. then click on the Save and Apply Icon. This should return ASA to Online, current weather mode. Please let me know. Thanks,
