October 6, 200817 yr Ok this has happened to me like 5 or 6 times now. I'll be flying along in FSX SP2 with ASX SP3 on. It doesn't matter where I fly, what I fly, or when I fly. After about 15-30 min my aircraft is all of a sudden sent blasting skyward spinning towards the heavens. I get up to 120,000 feet in a matter of seconds, and the acceleration doesn't stop. It's like a someone strapped some rockets on to the aircraft. This started happening probably about 3 months ago. Before then I never had any problems like this.So how did I come to the conclusion that it is ASX? I always fly with ASX for one. Secondly, today when it happened again, I paused FSX, then went and closed ASX. I went back in to FSX and everything was normal. I have no other weather add-ons except for FSUIPC. I only have wind smoothing on in FSUIPC. This has happened with FSUIPC 4.28. I am going to update FSUIPC to 4.30 and uninstall ASX and reinstall it. October 6, 200817 yr I forgot something. I actually had ASX SP3 Beta 1160 installed. Having trouble getting things reinstalled, cant find my key. I emailed customer support.
October 7, 200817 yr Hi,Key sent!Try without FSUIPC installed.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 7, 200817 yr Alright here are the ASX settings I used originally with FSUIPC's wind stabilization enabled. And this is what I used after I uninstalled ASX B1160 and reinstalled ASX B1160 without FSUIPC.So FSUIPC uninstalled and ASX B1160 reinstalled.Well, it happened again, kind of. I didn't get rocketed into space this time. I was on my downwind leg with the airport about 45 degress to my aft left. I was getting ready to turn and it happened. The aircraft started spinning out of control again and instead of going up, it just went down and continued to bounce off the ground (I have crash detection disabled). So then I paused the game, went and closed ASX, but it didn't stop the bouncing-spinning craziness. I went into slew mode, then back to normal mode, and waalaah. No more bouncing-spinning craziness. Weird. This problem seems to happen most of the time when I am getting ready to land. Now, last night I flew for about 45 min without ASX on and no FSUIPC, just fair weather through FSX. I had absolutely no problems like that. What do you think of it?
October 7, 200817 yr Oh yes, I forgot, I have TrackIR 4 Pro. I don't believe that makes a difference...but I could be wrong.
October 8, 200817 yr Hi,Set Wake Turbulence to zero and see what happens.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 8, 200817 yr Tried that, didn't work. Happened again, and this time, shortly after it started, it began causing display corruption within FSX and then X Engine crashed. This is the second time it has crashed like that.
October 8, 200817 yr Hi,Put Wake Turbulence back on and turn off Winds Aloft.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 10, 200817 yr Tried it, happened again. It crashed again. On approach to landing...again. Shall I try the previous non-beta installation?
October 10, 200817 yr Hi,First, set ASX to default settings. I don't know why you are getting crashes. Then please try a reinstall. B1160 is the official version we are up to and it is not beta any longer. Please let us know.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 10, 200817 yr I tried that already. In my third post, the second picture of the settings page are completely default settings. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling, as stated in the third post. I will have to try some different aircraft. Lately I have only been flying A2A's B377.
October 10, 200817 yr Hi,Help me out here! Are we now trying to fix the crash of ASX or the original problem?Thanks!!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 12, 200817 yr We are trying to fix the original problem. The crash of ASX I believe is a symptom of the original problem. I always get the original problem. Sometimes the original problem is accompanied by a crash of ASX. Specifically I believe I have had the original problem followed by display corruption in FSX and a crash of ASX about 3 times. I have had only the original problem probably about 6 times. ASX has not just crashed. The only time it has crashed is when I have had the original problem as well. To me it seems like ASX is sending erroneous or corrupt data or something. Follow me?
October 12, 200817 yr Hi,Disable TrackIR and see if that makes a difference.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 14, 200817 yr Tried that, didn't fix it. I believe I found the problem, but I am not sure. I had ASX's cpu affinity set to only core 1. After setting to both cores I could not duplicate the problem. It seems a little strange to me that this would cause it. ASX doesn't need the power of both cores, for it has such a small cpu load. I also recall having this problem before I ever set the affinity to just core 1. I will see what will happen in the next couple flights. I'll post if I have any more issues.
