Well I couldn't stand it anymore so I downloaded BT. Been flying around midway island. Flew from Midway to Kure with real overcast and 1000' ceiling and when I broke out there she was. A mere ##### hole in the snow....(see attached photo for the climb out from Midway.. Noticed one thing with the props.. After the take off the normal procedure in any constant speed prop I have ever flown (real world)is to reduce RPM first then MAP. Doing that in BT will get a pretty good increase in RPM until you pull the prop back a LOT. Not right guys.. This baby is a pure blast to fly.... What's this "sound thingy" some one mentioned?? Putting the FSSound.DLL in the modules folder?? I was expecting more earth shattering sounds from BT.. The R4D really rattles the windows. Am I missing something??/ Anyone want to do a Multiplayer formation flight tomorrow (Saturday) ? I have a DSL connection and can host the session with RW for comms. Come on, lets do the Midway to Kure thing or what ever... Mike B.

Hi Mike,Thanks for the extra donation :-)Don't know what you are seeing with your props. I don't see that here, nor did any of our BTBT - Briefing Time Beta Team - among them a retired 747 pilot, a corporate twin pilot, a chief flight instructor, a private pilot of 40 year's experience, several other pilots... should I go on? Take a look in the credits section of the manual for some names you should recognize. Since you have given me the opening, let me say again what a fabulous job those guys and one gal did. A team could not ask for better testers. Raise a glass to the BTBT, long may they fly high...:-beerchugYou may want to look again. I suspect the problem is more likely a bad control device. Or maybe you have been flying the Douglas so long you have forgotten where the prop levers usually are! :-lolAs for the sound thing, that was a glitch in the earliest CD's, which should have been accompanied by a note with the fix. It only involves missing screech and ground rumble sounds because of a misnamed folder. If you have a folder named Sounds (plural) in your FS2002 folder, you need to dump its files into the FS2002 main Sound folder and delete the misnamed folder.I would suggest you boost the engines slider in your Options/Settings/Sound menu if you can't shatter glass with those cyclones! I just woke up the household listening to mine.If you pull that multi session off, please post some screenies. I'd love to see a gaggle of 'BT's in flight.:-yellow1 :-yellow1 :-yellow1 :-yellow1Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, and Younghttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

"Thanks for the extra donation" Lol, you're quite welcome. See, by downloading last night I guaranteed the CD's will arrive today, hey I'm no dummy, I know how to make things happen... You were indeed correct about the RPM "problem". If you said it works correctly that was good enough for me. So I went to look at my controller setup and somehow the sensitivity and null zone on the props were not at max/zero so I reset them. I have no idea how they got changed as I NEVER set engine controls to anthing but MAX/zero?? Now I also get 2550 RPM if I let it go that high, before was only getting 2050 or just barely into the yellow on take off from Kure... I have a three lever throttle (CH USB yoke) and have the throttles split and the third lever I have set for Props. Kind of neat to be able to split the engines... The more I fly this thing the more impressed I am with the flight model. What a lady all the way down to the stall and it handles like a dream in the pattern.. Well done there guys...I already know the answer here Bill but I'll ask it anyway, you got any spare time to do a multi session??? (laughs to self....:9 ) I thought sure my last post would generate some multi interest but see I was worng... Oh well... Mike B.

Hi MikeWow! Another of those once-in-a-blue-moon instances of me being right! I must remember to tell Vicki, my wife -- like she'd believe me! :-lolWhat I wouldn't give to have six levers on my quadrant! Actually, what I would not give is probably just what they would want for such a beast - an arm and a leg! Know of any good deals on such a critter? I do like my CH Flightsim Yoke USB, but I would happily betray it for one with six knobs up there. :-)Rob Young is the master of flight dynamics - no doubt about it. Yes, you were indeed correct. Need a Notorized statement to that affect?? I'll fix you right up. As predicted, by downloading BT I did indeed make the CD combo show up today ! lol... Six levers? no problem, check this out. http://www.flypfc.com/new%20products/jetconsole.html It hopefully will be sitting here next to me in a month or so... It has INTERCHANGBLE quardants. I'm getting a two engine jet and a two engine prop throttle, best of both worlds... I JUST this minute got wireless networking running. You are the first contact on it. Been tossing wires in the trash for the last hour... Now when I am forced to spend time with the Wife, I can take the laptop to the den and STILL fly and pretend I'm listening to her...lol Gotta set up a couple more nodes now so catch you later... Mike B.

>>reduce RPM first then MAP. Doing that in BT will get a pretty good increase in RPM until you pull the prop back a LOT<<??? Increase in RPM ??? Doesn't ring true here Mike, but if that's what's showing your end, then I have to accept what you say. Here, we get more or less correct rpm reaction, though FS2002 does tend to give slight rpm fluctuation until it settles, which we worked hard to reduce considerably compared to some default prop reactions in other aircaft.Best Regards,Rob YoungMAAM-sim

hi Rob.. If you look at my reply to Bills reply you'll see me eating large amounts of crow. (Ain't that tasty either). Turned out to be the sensitivity setting was too low and had a null zone... Problem solved now... I see you are the flight dynamics guy.. WELL DONE... I love the way this feels.... Very nice... Mike B.

Thanks Mike. Always good to get appreciation from a pilot. All the Best,Rob MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, and Young
