April 19, 200323 yr hello all, I just got the spare $$ to get BT and i will most likley order it in the next week or so. Anyway, I was wondering if the BT purchase is tax deductible in any way?
April 19, 200323 yr It might be considered a form of therapy, I guess... (wide and wicked grin)!Jaap Verduijn.
April 20, 200323 yr Commercial Member The money you pay for the CD (or download) is not considered a tax deductible donation by the IRS, as you are getting a product for your money. However, if you donate anything over and above that price, that portion would be, since MAAM is a registered non-profit institution. For instance, if you buy the $5 R4D upgrade for FS2002 and pay $10, like one J.C. L. did today (thanks, Joseph) that extra $5 is a tax deductible donation. Print out a copy of the confirmation e-mail for your tax records.Whether or not you derive a tax benefit, though, we want you to know we really appreciate your support for the museum. We get the most benefit when you order directly from us at www.maam.org. In that case, every cent goes directly to support the museum's restoration programs. Obviously, the AVSIM Store is performing a great service, both for us and for the more impatient types who can't wait a few days for the postman to arrive, by handling the downlaod end of things. They have overhead and must make a profit to stay in business. But if you want all your money to go to MAAM, you should opt for the CD from the Museum Store.THANKS!! :-) Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, and Younghttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
