June 26, 200322 yr Hello MAAM folks, I have a question on the R4D CDROM install. Why can I not use the same key for an install on the same machine that I originally installed the lovely R4D? Nothing has changed as far as hardware or software. I re-installed FS2002 due to the fact I had over 7,000 gauges in my GAUGES folder, most of which I never used any longer. I would think the KEY, originally received from you folks, would be effective for an identical install on the same hardware/software machine. It would be great if the R4D installed like the MAAM BT-25. In either case, frustrated or not, these two aircraft are simply charms.Regards
June 26, 200322 yr Hello Bill, I want to say Thank You for your quick response. The R4D is now back up and running but competing for time with the BT-25.Regards
June 26, 200322 yr Commercial Member You're welcome. Blais.Let me remind others of what I told Blais. If you write down and save your original R4D serial number and registration key, you can delete the new serial number you will get if you must re-install, replace it with your original serial number, and your key will still work. Write them down on paper, not your hard-drive. I don't want to say the dreaded C-word that can plague hard drives, airplanes, and stock markets, but stuff happens! ;-)Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, Young, Womack, and Hamblyhttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
July 18, 200322 yr The original key will work. You must transfer the original key file that you setup in the initial install where you entered the key provided to you. After installing the R4D in your new FS2K2 install then copy the old key file into your new FS install. You cannot re-enter the old key through the install program. You must move the old file to the new one. IT'S WORKED FOR ME WHEN I REBUILT MY SYSTEM. This is a good reason to save old systems before you have everything up and running on the new one.heyrev
July 18, 200322 yr Hi heyrev, Bill answered my question back in June but I forgot to add a post to this thread mentioning it. The problem, mine, has been resolved for some time now. Thanks for your reply.Regards
