BT & FS9, major bummer for me

Featured Replies

Bill, I hope you can answer this one for me... Got BT working in FS9 but they seemed to have changed the way they handle the sounds a bit. Now when bringing back the propeller RPM the sound of the engines doesn't change at all. (All the way down to 1500) You have to bring the throttle back to 30-31 inches before ANY change in sound ocurs. This is a VERY big deal to me as the sounds in FS2K2 were the big draw for me. I have a six lever throttle and live for the power adjustments in this bird. Any chance of me "fixing" the sound.cfg to make the sounds more sensitive to power changes?? (Tell me how?? Mike Hambly, you listening?) I LOVE bringing back the props on climb out but alas, it's missing in FS9....;( Mike B.

Same here Bill; I love this aeroplane; I fly nothing else nowadays.. but the performance - including the sound - must match the specs for the "live" aircraft. When I come back to climb power - I want to hear it come back. Please, please fix this first.thanks,pj

Glad to see it's not just me. I bought FS Sound Studio to see if I could fix it myself but the sounds appear to behave as expected when in the "preview" mode of FS SOund. If the sounds could be controlled with the quadrant as well as they are in FS Studio all would be great. I don't know enough (read, nothing) about how the planes function to know if this is a sound config problem or A/C config problem. The guages all work as expected with the different throttle settings, it's just the sounds don't change at the approiate time. YO BILL, any comments?? Mike B.

I won't call it a bummer but I agree with the engine sounds. Pulling the throttle back doesn't change the sound until 16-18 inchs and same with the props. No sound change until the rpms hit the 20- 22 area. Edd

How about an answer or comment for the engine sound problem. If you don't think there is a problem, thats OK. Those of us who do may be able to find some other solution. Thanks Edd1

Don't worry guys, we're trying every trick in the book to make the FS9 BT handle as nice as she did in FS2002 and that includes the sound performance, naturellement. No easy task though so just hang in there a while longer and wait for the FS9 patch to get those Cyclones behaving as advertised again. Beta testing is well underway, proved there are still a couple of issue's to take care of. Promise the waiting will be worthwhile ! Best Regards,Jan ( Bill is trying to keep the MAAM-SIM gang behaving nicely during the Avsim Conference and Exhibition 2003, not an easy task either, i'm sure.. :( )
