November 15, 200322 yr Gentlemen:Before the BT upgrade to FS2004, whenever I would start FS2004, there would be a message regarding the possible conflict of third party software. In particular, it referenced FSSound .dll.After installing the upgrade, the message no longer appears. That in itself is good news, however I now when I choose the Historic Jetliners Group DC8 with their special panel, i get an the dreaded"this program has performed an illegal operation and will now close". In the details, it says the problem is with the FSSound.dllHas the BT upgrade changed the FSSound .dll in any way that would cause this as it has only been happening since i upgraded Briefing Time to FS 2004Thanks for any assistance with this.Roger Hollands
November 15, 200322 yr Roger,The fssound.dll file included in the first release of the upgrade is causing problems for some users. The solution is to replace it with your previous fssound.dll from the HJG DC8 (or any other package that includes it). It will be found in the FS9Modules folder. The "third party software" message can be eliminated by adding the following to your FS9.cfg file:(Oldmodules)fssound.dll=1Note... use square brackets instead of ()If the Oldmodules section already exists only add the fssound line.Fred
