June 21, 200421 yr How do you turn off the cockpit lights? Both the instrument and cockpit lights turn on with the instrument light switch and the cockpit light switch dosn't have an effect on anything, it would help if you could turn them off for night flights. Is there any fix in the works?Red
June 21, 200421 yr Commercial Member At the present time, there is no way to turn off the cockpit lights, separately from the gauge lights. If you want to have a dark background for the gauges, though, you can change the panel.cfg settings for the ambient light at night in the 2-D panels. It's in the final section and looks like this:Day=255,255,255Night=178,169,148Luminous=252,251,155Changing the Night numbers to 0,0,0 will give you a dark surround. You can alter these RGB (red, green, blue) numbers to obtain any possible color, hue, and brightness that pleases you. Likewise, changing the Luminous settings will alter the color of the instrument lights. Maybe we should start a "Most Putrid Panel" screenshot contest. ;-)Here's my entry... http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/crazypnl.jpgAs for the VC, Jan will have to explain how the ambient lighting is controlled in there.Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, Young, Womack, and Hamblyhttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
