Problem openning secondary doors

Recommended Posts

Guest ogeva

I seems to have a problem with openning the cargo doors - I think it's a general problem, not just a MAAN DC3 problem but I can't be sure because I don't even remember which of my other planes had this option.I press SHIFT+E then release them then press 2 - and it only opens the main exit, not the scondary one.I checked the assignments menu, I have SHIFT +E as "select Exit" and 1,2,3,4 as "Select Item", so all is good in that department. But still, I cannot select the secondary exit.Anybod has an idea?

I think I am on to something. When I changed the assignment to the numpad numbers they do work! But on the regular numbers they don't.Anyone has an idea?

Possibly another add-on has `taken` that command for itself - be a bit strange though, as it's been a standard MS keyboard command since the Dark Ages!Allcott

I have run into the same problem with opening secondary doors, as well as switching throttle controls from one or the other or both. Turns out that in FS2004 seems to sometimes ignore the numbers you hit after "E" or the "Door Open" commands. What will happen is that the secondary doors stop working, and if one throttle has been selected, it becomes impossible to select both throttles again. It seems to happen after I've been flying for awhile and it seems to get fixed by cycling through the Aircraft Selection window and selecting the same aircraft I'm using. Once I do that, I regain control of both throttles and the secondary doors start working.

Actually, I changed the keys to the numpad 1, 2, 3 and 4, and withthe numpad it works.

A poorly written addon gauge can cause this effect. (in essence a guage may be continously doing something and breaking your sequence of keystrokes by doing whatever it's doing between your shift-e and your 2.)

It happens on panels only using default gauges, so either you just dissed Microsoft's gauge writing somewhat, or there's another reason as well. ;-)My findings on this one are even stranger - I can always get door two to open on shift-e-2 provided both engines are running. The moment I kill either engine, the door will refuse to open unless I assign the command to another keystroke.Definately strange.Ian P.
