December 24, 200421 yr My virus scanner is reporting that the C-47A OY-BPB update contains a virus. This is the version from the MAAM website.Any ideas?
December 24, 200421 yr I downloaded the file direct from AVsim and my virus checker (AVAST) detected a virus. I have now downloaded again, but is it safe to use?Steve
December 24, 200421 yr I use AVAST also. I wonder if it is a false positive? In any case, I believe I will hold off until I know for sure.Better safe than sorry.BTW, the virus found was Win32:Trojan-gen. {UPX!}.
December 25, 200421 yr Commercial Member Well guys, I checked it with McAffee and it's clean with that, too.So, the score is Norton, McAfee, and AVG all negative. Plus no reported viruses from the upload sites, including AVSIM and Flightsim.com, who scan all uploads. I strongly suspect a false warning from AVAST. I have received NO other reports from anyone. My bet is, it's safe as houses. You might want to try McAfee's Free Scan for yourself and see what you get. https://us.mcafee.com It will only check your C:, My Documents, and Windows directories, so put the file in one of these locations before you scan.Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, Young, Womack, Sodja & Beaumonthttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
