June 23, 200520 yr after a long wait I received the disk. However after reading thestart up instructions and then changing over the cfg filesto easy steering I am unable to keep the planes on the runwayand generate enough speed to take off.I use a joy stick. What is wrong?
June 23, 200520 yr Hi MokkumWelcome to a unique club! You won't regret your purchase, I am sure. However, we've got to get you going first. Are you having this problem only with the MAAM-SIM aircraft, or with others too? If the latter, it sounds as though your joystick may need calibrating or the sensitivities adjusting. If the former, then we'll need to know a bit more about your settings. Are you attempting takeoff at an airport near sea level, or higher? Have you checked that your prop levers are fully forward (i.e. the props are in max pitch?). Mixture set to full rich? Have you checked your fuel and payload? You need to do this as the aircraft is overweight by default and you must reduce one or the other as with the real aircraft. That is, you should reduce her weight...... she will take off eventually when overloaded, but you'll need a lot more runway! Finally, bear in mind that DC-3s do not rotate sharply like a modern jet. When you get her to 80-85 knots, gentle back pressure will lift her gently from the runway. Then gear up, maintain climb until 105 knots is achieved, nose down a tad and reduce MAP to 36" for the next stage of climb.Let us know how you get on or, as I say, post some more details about your configuration when starting off.MarkMark "Dark Moment" Beaumont[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
June 25, 200520 yr Hi Mark:This airplane has me completely baffled. My joystick works fine withmy entire stable except the Maams. I have full rich mix,max prop rpm andno load settings with full realism settings for theplane. She won't steer on the ground and won't turn in the air after slewing her up. The stickcontrols won't move any of the wing and tail control surfaces.Help!!!!!Mokkum
June 25, 200520 yr I'm guessing it has something to do with that CFG file. Can you wing the one you are using over to me for a look? [email protected] is the address.I'm stalling, really ;-) ... I can't think what's up. But a look at that might help.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
