February 27, 200620 yr Bill,TAA stands for Trans-Australia Airlines, established in February 1946. TAA changed its name to Australian Airlines in 1988. Qantas bought them out in 1992, and rebranded "Australian Airlines" as its low cost international carrier. Graeme Butler
February 28, 200620 yr "TAA stands for Trans-Australia Airlines" That narrows the search: Airliners.net has many TAA DC-3 photos and each has a different paint-scheme. There's even a bare one dated 2005.
