August 6, 200619 yr I want to make my own private modernized DC3 panel (it has to be my own's and I am scavenging gauges from other copyrighted panels).I have seen pictures of DC3's having Bendix King KAP140 or similar autopilot systems. Does an STEC-55X A/P make sense too? I am not sure if it is certified for DC3 usage...http://online.vatsimindicators.net/825051/142.png
August 6, 200619 yr Commercial Member Haven't the foggiest idea, Oren. I could not get a clue from S-Tec's website. I suppose you could shoot them an e-mail query, but then you'll probably get a call from an eager salesman with hopes of a big fat commission wanting to sell you this pricey bit of kit for your Gooney Bird. :-)Bill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/maamsim_neon.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
August 6, 200619 yr Yeah I know..I tried downloading their manuals etc. but no clue as to which planes the autopilot is certified for.I figured, if a KAP140 which is a GA class 2 axis rate based A/P can be fitted with a DC3, why not an S-TEC?http://online.vatsimindicators.net/825051/142.png

August 14, 200619 yr From what I know, the real question is if S-Tec makes a servo that can handle the control loads of the DC-3. As long as the servo can move the control, makes no difference as to what controls it.
