August 8, 200817 yr I have just bought the MAAM Douglas R4D/DC3 / C-47 download version. The download and installation caused no problem. However trying to unzip the Manual with the instruction video's (the big one of about 256 MB) and some liveries results in an error-message and a stop of the unzipping-process right at the beginning.Any download from the free-stuff page has the same unzip-problem.I have tried a download without the Norton 360 protection, but the same result. Is there anyone who can help me with some information about this problem.I use Windows XP Prof.Martien van de Rovaart
August 9, 200817 yr Commercial Member Hi Martien,Sorry you are having a problem, but I don't think it's caused by anything at this end. I have just checked a few of the zips at random, downloading them and opening with Winzip and XP's built-in utility, and everything was OK. Most of the files on the Free Stuff Pages are housed in the Avsim library and linked to them. This is not the case with the manual, which is on our own server, but I checked another such zip, and it downloaded and opened properly, too.We have received no other such reports of unzipping trouble. It sounds like something is interrupting your DL so that the zip is incomplete/corrupted when you try to open it. Are you getting an explanation of the error from Winzip? When you have finished downloading, check the zip properties and see if their size matches the file size shown for it on the Free Stuff page. Have you made any recent changes to your system? Are you able to DL and open zips from other sources today, but not from our pages?Let us know how you make out, and good luck. Sometimes you just want to throw your computer through a window, but don't - you might hit some innocent pedestrian!Bill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/hgrsm_blkani.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
