No View In Virtual Cockpit MAAM-SIM C-47

Recommended Posts

A couple of days ago, I installed a new Seagate 1TB SATA drive on my Vista system. Then, using Acronis True Image Home ver. 11, I cloned my [old] C: Seagate 250G SATA drive (completely full) and transferred everything over to the new, 1TB drive (now my new C:).Everything worked perfectly as far as I have been able to determine so far. Except for one thing. Oddly, now I have no scenery viewable through the VC in FSX! Just a sky blue color. Scenery IS viewable in the 2d CP and all other views! This was not happening before the cloning procedure on my old HDD. Yes, I had installed the r4dFSXu1 fix, which seeemed to work well for running the MAAM-SIM C-47/DC-3 (except for known issues).Any idea what's going on here?VC.jpgBruce

Hi BruceAre you running FSX with SP2 or Acceleration Pack (which includes SP2)? If so, look here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=5861&page=Let us know, though, in case you need further help.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cx.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/avsimlogo.jpg[/a]

Hi Mark,I am running w/ SP2 but NOT Acceleration. I tried the fix you suggested but it made no difference. This is odd because before I performed my cloning operation, everything worked well in FSX. UPDATE: When the VC screen first loads, it flickers and displays the scenery, but then reverts to what you see in my photo above. When I pan around the VC, nothing changes. However, when I switch to the 2d CP, I get the scenery, but only in forward view. When I use the hat switch to look left or right, the scenery is not visable.Very odd. Any suggestions? Reinstall FSX? Reinstall MAAM-SIM planes? Delete SP2?Bruce

Well, I've uninstalled FSX Service Pack 2 and that brought the scenery back in the VC and 2d. However, the mystery remains as to why everything worked as well as could be expected under SP2 before I cloned my old HDD??? For the time being, I'm happy to have back my absolutely wonderful line of MAAM-SIM C-47's and DC-3's, and anxiously awaiting for the team to announce a fully FSX version! In the near future, if I should stumble on the fix for anyone who might also be experiencing the same problem, I will certainly rush to post my findings here. :-) Bruce

BruceYou should not have to uninstall SP2. Can it be something to do with the order in which you have installed things, I wonder? Or might you have not applied the fix to all texture folders that you use?I can't think why your problem remains, otherwise, but we'll stay on top of it if you have further comments.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cx.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/avsimlogo.jpg[/a]

Does this happen all the time, or just when it's raining as I seem to remember that there is an SP2 problem with rain making VCs opaque.Tim
