October 18, 200322 yr I've gone to: http://library.avsim.net/index.php?Sort=Na...Change+Category and there is a long list of files - which do I need to get Orbiter running, all of them? Also, of the extra files, which would you say are the top 5 to get?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36121.jpgAthlon 3000512Mb PC3200 DDR RAM (400MHz)256MB nVIDIA GeForce FX 5600seFS9, running fine :-)
October 18, 200322 yr Go here: http://library.avsim.net/index.php?CatID=o...&Go=Change+Viewand work your way up.You absolutely need (IMHO):BASESTANDARD RESEARTH HI RESMOON HI RESMARS HI RESPATCHES 1, 2 and 3After that, you are on you own. :)
October 19, 200322 yr I'd strongly suggest the optional high resolution textures for Earth, the moon and Mars. With these Earth can look truely spectacular. Best regards, Chris
October 20, 200322 yr If you would like sound, I suggest Dan's OrbiterSound 2.5 module. You can get it here:http://orbiter.dansteph.comOrbiter by itself doesn't come with any sound so if you want sound you must get that OrbiterSound module.Let me also remind that a NEW version of Orbiter is currently under beta testing and will be out very soon. So if you have some problems in the existing Orbiter don't feel disappointed. The new version supposidly is going to be absolutely amazing and I think will come with sound. One issue that you will run into in the current version of Orbiter is if you are using Windows XP and a joystick with a throttle, the throttle most likely won't work. This will be fixed in the new version.Regards
October 21, 200322 yr I have XP, so maybe I'll wait for the next version, and get in from the start. Thanks for the help anyways.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36121.jpgAthlon 3000512Mb PC3200 DDR RAM (400MHz)256MB nVIDIA GeForce FX 5600seFS9, running fine :-)
