CH USB Pro Pedals

Featured Replies

Hi all,I recently got a new computer with Win XP pro and my problem is that after flying a while in FS9 my CH rudder pedals become inactive and I have to replug the usb port to get them working again. This only happens to the rudder pedals, the yoke continues to work.I remember reading something about this awhile back, but was unable to find anything in a search.Does anyone know if there is a solution to fix this problem.ThanksArnold

I wish there was some feedback to this one. I am having the same problem with XP and CH Pro USB pedals. Bob C.

By default Win XP during install turns on Power Management for USB devices. This causes some USB devices to go to "sleep" if they are not used after a certain period of time. XP just shuts them down.To disable this (diabolical) scheme go to your "Device Manager" (click Start>Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>System>Hardware>Device Manager). Included in the list of all your hardware will be a section titled "Universal Serial Bus controllers". Click on the "+" to expand the tree. Now you'll see a number of "USB Root Hub" notations (the number you'll see depends upon your motherboard). For each USB Root Hub you see, right click on it and then click on "Properties". Now you'll see a tab that says "Power Management". Click on it and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".Hope this helps,

Thanks GregI appreciate your helpArnold

Yes I tried that one, but I believe I still had a problem. Checked with an IT friend of mine which advised some of XP's default USB drivers are guilty of this very action. Therefore OEM drivers are suggested. So, I checked out CH's Control Manager, which did include a specific USB driver for the Pro Rudder Pedals. So far it seems better. Still checking. Haven't had enough time to give it a lengthy try.Bob C.
