WOW WOW WOW!! 512mb -> 1024mb = a whole world of difference!

This is really REALLY amazing. I just went from 512mb to 1gig of RAM, and it simply made a whole world of difference for me!No more stuttering, FPS are constant always (from 20-35fps, 35locked), I tried even very big airports (FPS drop to 12-15fps, but that's normal), and still have in those cases around 250mb free. No swapping (turned off the swap file) also makes the whole thing faster. And I didn't manage to bring it to the edge of the memory.NO STUTTERING FINAAAAAAAAAAAALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smooth as the baby's #### :)Just sharing my happiness...

That's interesting. I have recently moved from 512MB to 1GB, and I could hardly notice the difference. My frame rates were in the range you mention, although not with all handles maxed.Maybe I got more smoothness, but it is not very noticeable. In what concerns the swap file (pagefile), I got here in the forum several informations saying that it is only used when the system has no memory left. Otherwise I was also said that Windows XP always creates a swap file, even if you have turned it to zero.Could you please tell what are your current settings for the display?Regards,

I would advice you though to enable the swap file again. Especially if you run windows XP.XP is very good to calculate the size of your swap file really.

I'd second that. Allcott

In fact, I'll go further. Read this:http://www.osnn.net/articles.php?action=show&showarticle=99I hope this finally puts any fanciful notions about messing with the page file to rest. LEAVE IT ALONE, except for deciding where to put it.Allcott
