July 10, 200421 yr Hi!I installed my new X800XT card yesterday and FS does perform a LOT better in terms of FPS, but for some reason I had wierd texture issues on the ground where the textures would "jump around" quite substantially. As a result I installed the new Cat 4.7 drivers and the problems still persists!Does anybody else with an X800XT card have this problem with FS9??James
July 10, 200421 yr "Does anybody else with an X800XT card have this problem with FS9??"Uhhh, you might be the first. And we're looking for someone within the forum to post their feelings about the card.Care to volunteer? :-) GregP.S. Can you post a screen shot of what you're seeing with the texture issue?Edit: Ahh I saw your post in another thread concerning first impressions of the card. Thanks
July 10, 200421 yr Hi Greg,Sorry, I in the office at the moment so I can't post any screenies. Another thing, 3DMARK03 will run for a short time then CTD!When trying to fire it up again, it won't run at all but give me an error message instead!!What the...???James
July 10, 200421 yr "Another thing, 3DMARK03 will run for a short time then CTD!"Uh, Houston, we've got a problem! :-) The X800 series cards were made to run 3DMark03 so this isn't good, Jim. Now might be a good time to take stock of what you have. System specs, please, including OS and DirectX version. Also what video card did you have before the X800 XT?Thanks,Greg
July 10, 200421 yr I have an X800 Pro. I'm very pleased. I'm convinced now beyond a shadow of a doubt that FS is very CPU dependent, which of course is the convensional wisdom. My specs are:ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe (overclockable as all get out, running stock)P4 3.2 NorthwoodATI Radeon X800 Pro Cat 3.5's1 Gig 3200 RAMSata drivesYada Yada YadaEverything is pretty much maxed...even Water and Sun Glare is on. The only switch turned off is A/C reflection. This setup provides flawless performance, no matter what the situation. I'm frame locked at 30FPS and it is always fluid and smooth, regardless of weather, airport, etc.I've finally reached Flight Sim Nirvana! This is even more important to me, as I've recently become blind in my left eye, so real flying is out...FS2004 is my only outlet!Cheers!bt
