CPU usage problem

Featured Replies

Just tonight noticed a few of my multiplayer games were very sluggish online. When I go to Windows task manager I have a entry near the bottom for System and its up around 60% or so give or take. My CPU usage is around 85% and its never been like this, usually hardly anything really. Im stumped...ad aware and spybot have come up with nothing and AVG sees nothing either, Im wondering what is up and if anyone has any ideas about what it could be.Thanks Hornit

Download SpySweeper here: http://www.webroot.com It catches many things that AdAware and Spybot miss. Also, use HijackThis to scan your system http://www.spychecker.com/download/download_hijackthis.html Be careful with HijackThis... you can FUBAR your system in a heartbeat if you delete the wrong key! Post a screenie here of your HijackThis scan if you want additional assistance.FYI... my TM "System" entry shows 212Kb memory useage and 0 CPU useage at desktop.Hope this helps,Greg

Turns out it was my 4 port USB hub, dropped off the small desk it was on and one of the ports for my Dig cam card reader was not plugged in all the way, reconnected everything and its back to normal. Oh I have Hijack this and know how to interpret it, great program! Will try the other spyware progie there, thx!Hornit
