August 23, 200421 yr Does anyone have any first-hand experience of using dual CPU machines with FS2004? Thanks, Kenji Southampton Flight Simulator www.sfsim.com
August 24, 200421 yr This has been discussed here at length over the last year. 2 CPUs are nice but you won't find 1% worth of difference, at least not in FS2004.Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
August 24, 200421 yr I personally tried a 2x3GHz Xeon machine w/ 2GB RAM vs my trusty Athlon 2700+XP (not overclocked) with 1 GB RAM. Graphics in both cases was my Radeon9800pro/128MB.Well, running FS2K4 ALONE, my AMD just went 5-10fps FASTER. Guess the built-in 3Dnow! makes a big difference here. Only when I had running stuff in the background like a mp3-player, the XEON "sees land" because he can have FS running on processor #0 and the other stuff on #1.I cannot comment however on dual athlons...Torsten
