Problem with sound - please help

Featured Replies

Hi all,Just recently a problem developed with my FS9 sound where it modulates in intensity from very loud to very quiet in say 2-3 minute intervals. It does not depend on any particular stage of flight nor the view. At one moment it's normal, than all of a sudden it gradually quiets down for several minutes, than again it goes up to high volume.Really bizzare and it never happened to me before.I have a Sound Blaster 5.1 sound card with the current set of drivers from Creative. My sound quality is set to 'best' within FS, and I have the slider in the DXDIAG one notch low of the maximum.I would be grateful for your help with that,Thanks a lot,DomMy sig:ASUS A7N8X Deluxe, rev.1.4BIOS Uber 1007 AMD Athlon XP27002x512MB Kingston PC3200 400Mhz in slots 1 & 2 (single channel)Seagate 40GB 7200rpmATI Radeon 9800+ (Catalyst 4.9)Watercooling system with 900l/h pump - blocks on the CPU and Graphics Board (35c startup, 45c load)Planar 19' LCD monitor via analogue

Try setting the acceleration in Dxdiag to "Basic".Greg

Hmm,What would it do really?ThanksDom

"What would it do really?"Tell you if your soundcard is unhappy. It's a known problem that some SB cards/motherboard combos don't handle full acceleration well. Also, have you tried re-installing the card's drivers? Another option is to dump those Creative drivers in favor of the kx Audio's. They're more directed at audiophiles, but they're simple, clean and quite extensive in capability. They ave no where near the bloat of Creative's drivers.Greg
