CH Yoke newbie question

Featured Replies

Since alot of people here use this product I thought I would tap into your experiences with it. just purchased a CH yoke and it seems to be somewhat sticky as it slides back and forth. Is this something that will improve with use, or should I maybe look at returning it, or maybe there is some way of lubricating it? Any thoughts?CheersAustin

You bought it new? Well silicon grease would help and I don

It's not that the Yoke sticks so much as it isn't traveling back and forth as smooth as I would have hoped. When it comes to small adjustments to pitch it seems to hang very slightly which will cause me to add a little too much pressure and the plane will overshoot my target. Honestly when the adjustments are as small as I'm talking about a person would just trim the plane a bit for the finer micro adjustments, but the stick is brand new and I was just testing it out to see how well it would handel.Love it and the pedals so far, even for having them for such a short time I'm beginning to wonder how I lived without them.Cheers,Austin

Austin;I've had the same problem with mine..had it about 4 years and its always done it. CH recomends using a silicone based lube, they mentiona product made by sherwin williams paint co.I recently tried some automotive silicone I had laying around but it did'nt help much. This stuff had a petroleum based carrier though somaybe some Krylon or the stuff they recomend would work.DN

Thanks for the info DN. Glad to see it wasn't something defective. I've gotten few more flights under my belt with my CH setup and am finding the "stickiness" not to be much of a problem. Maybe in couple of months I'll look into getting the stuff CH suggests.ThanksAustin
