November 8, 200421 yr When I run DxDiag, I get this error message"DxDiag has detected that there may bave been a problem accessing DirectInput the last time this program was used. Would you like to bypass DirectInput this time?"I have Directx 9.0bWould appreciate any help. ThanksAbe
November 8, 200421 yr I would just say no the bypass, as for why it's happening, don't really have an idea, I used to get that sometimes but just ignored it.
November 9, 200421 yr When you run dxdiag, check the DirectX files page and see if any of the files are listed as old, corrupted, etc. If so, you might need to reinstall directx. I would download and install directx9.0c and see if that corrects your problem.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
November 9, 200421 yr Author Thanks for the replies. The only files of Directx I found were in Directx/dinput. All the files have a stamped date of 8/23/2001. I did reinstall 9.0b with the same result. I am a little hesitant about 9.0c, besides I do not know where to get it.Abe
November 10, 200421 yr Read what directinput processes - http://msdn.microsoft.com/archive/default....directinput.asp Get the entire directx9.0c here - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en . This download is 34.2MB so if you have dialup, you may want to visit the normal Windows Update site for the update version.Have you had any problems with mouse, keyboard, joysticks, etc? Are their any problems showing in device manager for these items?W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
November 11, 200421 yr Author Thanks again W.Sieffert. Had no problems with anything and no problems with the device manager either. It's just the annoying error display, apparently nothing was really affected.I'll try to download 9.0c and see if that would at least eliminate the display of the error prompt.Abe
