November 25, 200421 yr I recently saw a large fresnel lens for sale on a flight sim web site but now I can't find it. It had a nice stand and could handle monitors up to 21" and the cost was about $300 or so. Anyone know where I can find it (so I can let Santa know!)? Has anyone tried it? I'm concerned that the image might be blurry. ThanksDavid
November 25, 200421 yr I bought Fresnel from Edmund Scientific in New Jersey. It was a few years ago and I paid about $140 for it. They have quite a selection of such lenses and I bought the least expensive one that would fit my 19" monitor. I am very, very pleased with results and picture quality is excellent. Make sure you buy the lens that is for imaging and not as a light diffusor for pojectors. Out of the two types you need one with fewer grooves per inch.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.

November 26, 200421 yr Yep, that's the one I was looking for originally Allen. Thanks! It occurs to me now, though, that I fly in VC mode exclusively - so will the cockpit instruments that should be right in front of my face look far away too?David
November 26, 200421 yr >so will the cockpit instruments that should be>right in front of my face No, in real cockpit the instrumrnt panel is NOT in front of your face.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.

I'll be using widewiew to sync the monitors for the outside views and will have intstruments on a seperate LCD monitor without a fresnel lens.Won't be cheap...but should be awesome!Allen
