January 22, 200521 yr hi allive gone from a Gforce Ti4200 to a Gforce FX6600 GT and i rang the above test using the Ti4200 and the 6600 and i got exactly the same points for both cards, why is that? I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
January 22, 200521 yr you mean a GF6600GT? There's no FX6600 ;)Such benchmarks are not always reliable. Some are tweaked to make a specific manufacturer's cards look better for example. In your case it may well be your card isn't capable of running at full performance based on the rest of your system though. If the CPU can't feed it data fast enough, it's just idling for longer than your GF4Ti did.
January 22, 200521 yr Author yes the 6600 GTyes i think your write as i see ZERO improvement in FS with the PMDG VC ac also added 512 meg ram. I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
January 22, 200521 yr Test the card in 3DMark2003. It's far more video card intensive than 2001 or 2005. But no matter what version you use your new vc will be held back by the rest of your system (more stuff to upgrade :-) ).Greg
January 22, 200521 yr Well, I did the same upgrade today (apart from adding RAM, I was at 1GB and still am, next upgrade will bring that to 3GB).Here's what I notice so far (with the ** P-51):At 1280x1024 I get the same performance I got with the 4Ti4200.At 1600x1200 though my performance is about 50% improved.I guess the CPU could handle the extra load but the AGP4x bus on the 4Ti4200 could not.The 6600GT has an AGP8x bus which can handle the data so I now fully utilise the CPU.
