February 7, 200521 yr Hi All,I seem to have a problem or at least i think i do. My system is pretty much high end spec but i still get slow textures loading from the cockpit when viewing in the 2d mode, virtual cockpit seems ok but also sometimes happens here also.It always seems to happen when i look left or right when in 2d cockpit after switcing between views. The textures appear to have a delay loading & i also get those brown squares also in the scenery below when looking left or right.I have attached below 2 screen shots when flying the Wings of power B17.I have my frame rates locked at 30 & i have the texture bandwidth set at 180 & i have also tried 400 but this makes no difference.my system specs are as follows:Windows Xp Home (sp2)AMD 64 FX-53 processorAsus A8V Deluxe Mobo latest bios installed & via 4 in 1 chipset drivers installed1024mb PC3200 DDR160gb SATA hard drive256mb Geforce 6800 ultra 66.93 driversCreative ZS platinum19" sony TFT Monitormany thanksMike.
February 9, 200521 yr Hello Mike,I know it won't really help you but maybe will it give you some indications:I have the same problem from the day FS2004 was released. My computer was a good P4 3.0 Ghz together with a FX5900 256 Mb.After trying every possible tweak or solution fount on various forums, after spending hundred of hours uninstalling/installing Windows, FS, DirectX, drivers X,Y,Z..., changing the screen resolution, trying with and without addons, on a fresh FS install, with and without FS patch.. trying really EVERYTHING (I even installed FS from a friend's CDs, believing that it might come from my original FS CDs..), I decided to built a new computer a month ago (...).I sold every component of my PC and I only kept the floppy driver, thinking that maybe it could come from the HD, the PSU or whatever...Thousands of $ later...I have quite a "juicy" computer and nothing to eat but never mind!!I switched to ATI,after long years with Nvidia wishing to try every different solution. One can't say that my computer is not "good enough" for FS, right?And.... the problem is still here.I have been working for 10 years in computers and I am not a dummy or a newbie in FS and I really can say that I have tried every possible hardware or software solution. My conclusion:1) the only thing I didn't do is to try my config with another monitor and I suspect the problem coming from here.2) as a lot of us I am completely addicted to FS but I spend more hours tweaking, looking for the best quality, the best fps, the best smooth image than flying. And despite the almost perfect quality of the game today on my new PC I am always looking for better and better. And that's a mistake because my eyes get used to this high quality and I forget how the image was when I had a PIII 1.0ghz, a PIV 2.4, my good 3.0...(not speaking about my first 133Mhz and FS 5...)and there is no end to that.Today, because I can't really get better hardware and because I have fount no solution I have decided to accept this "small" problem of textures loading, brown squares or white ones above the sea. In fact it's nothing important. I live with this and I try to enjoy the beauty of the sim and believe me, with a config like yours I am sure you can also enjoy flying and forget about this issue. The sim is wonderful with high end computers like ours. And it would be a pity to waiste our pleasure with such a small problem, no?happy landingsDavid in Jerusalem - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
