February 17, 200521 yr I have a Dell Dimension 2350 with a 2GHz Celeron and 512MB memory. It uses built-in Intel Extreme(?) Graphics. I get about 20fps with the default C172, UK VFR Photographic Scenery and Terrain, no AI and limited clouds. The BIOS will enable a PCI video card to be installed.Has anyone done this? Is so, what improvement in fps did you get and how did you do it?Please no replies saying I shouldn't be starting from here - it's where I am ;)Thanks in advance Gerry Howard
February 17, 200521 yr Yes indeed. I have a HP 2GHz Celeron with 512MB and probably the same Intel graphiics package. I bought a Radeon 7500 PCI card (64 MB) and it made a tremendous difference. I would estimate 15% - 20% difference in frames. But to tell the truth, I used it all up immediately by moving the sliders to the right.Next, I found a deal on a Radeon 9200 with 128MB and it made it even better. Now I've added a second monitor and I'm experimenting with both monitors on the 9200 v.s. one on the 9200 and one on the Intel AGP port.In short, do it. Maybe we could strike a deal on selling my 7500 to you. R-
