February 18, 200521 yr I posted here recently and got an unbelievable response to my question about getting a new DELL XPS Gen 4 System with the Radeon XT850 PE card. DELL has an incredible deal on right now and I might buy the system tonight. My question right now therefore is:Is the radeon XT850 PE card really that much better and worth much more than the nVidia 6800GTO card for FS2004? Will the Radeon card really be that much better? Why do I ask? Because I don't think I've seen any tests that show that the Radeon card is amazingly better than the 6800GTO card and I don't think I've seen either tested for FS2004. That said, my knowledge and my perspective is probably limited. Finally, if the Rdeon IS better than the nVidia card, is the Radeon 850 PE really that much better than the Radeon XT 800 card for FS2004 ?I appreciate any further word on this from those in the know. Thanks! February 18, 200521 yr Cards seem to be coming out left and right, all with the latest technology. The X800 and 6800 series are the "must have" cards. From what i am told, both perform wonderfully. And at times, can supply 100+ FPS. The XT850 is the newest ATI. Its the card i am looking at and plan on getting this year. You cant ever be shure on how the card will perform, and i had my doubts with the purchase of the 9600XT 128, but it met my satisfaction. The XT850 is the newest, and fastest card out there. No doubt in my mind that the 850 would not be a great card. I would seriously think about getting it. Most likely the fastest in my opinion. Give it a shot. The X800, 6800, or 850 are the top 3 cards. Eathier one is great and a good choiice. Not shure about the performance diff. in the 800 and 850, but im shure its there in the long run.:-wave enjoy the new pc.hope i helped out a little.:-wave Chase Barnett
February 18, 200521 yr >is the>Radeon 850 PE really that much better than the Radeon XT 800>card for FS2004 ?An excerpt from a review athttp://www.beyond3d.com/reviews/ati/r480/"As we can see, with only a 20MHz core and 30MHz memory speed boost over the older X800 XT Platinum Edition, the X850 XT Platinum Edition doesn't have its performance increased by very much."By the way, the X850 XT (not the PE - Platinum Edition - model) is slower than the X800 XT PE:"Similarly, the XT board also has the same core speed as the old X800 XT Platinum Edition, but a slightly lower memory clock rate."Emerson
