March 6, 200521 yr Just recently a new and strange problem has developed in my FS9. The throttle axis no longer works, although all the other axes function correctly when using the CH Virtual Pro yoke. When I start up FS9, the AC idles ok but the throttle axis on the yoke no longer functions. I'm having problems too when the CH TQ is plugged in. If I go to assignments, the correct assignments are there. When returning to FS, the engine begins to accelerate by itself. This even after calibrating the various componets, e.g. pedals, yoke and TQ. This occurs with default and add-on A/C. I deleted the FS9.CFG and let it rebuild itself and also restored an original devices.cfg file. These actions had no effect. Any other ideas? Am I resigned to reload FS? I haven't tried the restore system possibility yet but would like to hear if this has ever happened to someone else and if there is a common problem and solution. Thanks for any ideas.
March 6, 200521 yr go to axis settings...delete the throttle axis for the YOKE and then double click the throttle axis.then move throttle..does it find your YOKE throttle???problem i had was having... 2 throttles, one on yoke and the CHTHROTTLEPRO.i have to delete the thottle axis for the YOKE.otherwise niether work properly.CH TQ?? is that the new chthrottle.if you don't have any other throttle installed but the CHYOKE it is probably the axis settings. steve
March 7, 200521 yr Author Steve,Thanks for the time and suggestions, but I did all this. As of now I disconnected the TQ (yes throttle quadrant) from the computer and still no action on the yoke throttle axis. I had the same experience with both devices assigned to throttle when I first received the TQ and what was happening was a unstable engine or engines until I discovered what you did, that you cannot have both devices assigned to the same axis function. However this is not the situation now. There seems to be a problem somewhere in the programming but I am unsure as to what. Restore won't work since I have the FS on another drive and no restore point was determined for that drive. If nothing pops up soon, I'll have to go to a reinstall. Thanks again.
March 7, 200521 yr Author Problem all fixed now. Don't know exactly what the problem was, probably a combination of a couple of things. After running Spy-ware* and deleteing the pesky critters, and rebooting, XP performed some repairs on the disk. Then after checking the sensitivities bar, which was now on minimum, and moving that to maximum, all is working well. Thanks to all who were trying to solve this issue.
