Hi all,I'm using a Dell Dimension 8250, 2.8 gig Pentium 4. Have 1024 mgs of Ram, and of course, I am looking for the very best smoothness and frame rates possible in my favorite sim, FS9. I have the OC version of the Nvidia 6800GT card (256Mg)and I run my monitor resolution at 1280 X 1024.Please tell me what AA and AF settings you are most successful using. I've tried many combinations, and I can't be sure which is the best compromise of performance and quality. I have the very latest Nvidia drivers (71.84)which I feel SHOULD be the best. Right?Look forward to your comments.

I crank it all the way up to 8xS AA and 16x AF using the 71.90 driver. The S AA modes in particular make the sim look better than I was ever able to achieve with my Radeon 9800 Pro. I find that the number of addons I run tax the CPU enough to bring the FPS down to a level where video settings don't make any further difference to performance, so I may as well use all she's got! The only exception seems to be an extra FPS hit with dense clouds around AND dense scenery, and in such instances I temporarily notch either autogen and/or cloud density back one setting until it is smooth again (all sliders normally set to the far right).The best thing I've done in recent weeks is turn the dang FPS counter off and just fly :7 Gary

Sounds cool! I do have to admit that I'm a little obsessed with that FPS counter. It's always on when I fly. I should turn it off and take your advice. Thanks,

Right?>Look forward to your comments.>>>I installed Nividia 71.84 on my new Dell 8400 with the Nvidia 6800 GT card and it brought stutters to my previously well working FS9. After days of tweaking this and that, I finally used the FS9 rollback feature to go to the original drivers the 2 week old PC came with ( 66.87) and problem is solved.
