April 1, 200521 yr I would like to know which of the available Nvidia drivers is the moststable and reliable under FS9 - My card is Nvidia FX5900 128Mb.Perhaps there isn't an easy answer for this but your comments wouldbe welcome to help me decide which drivers to try. There appears tobe a large number of these drivers making it difficult to decide whichone to go for.ThanksJB Joaquin Blanco Intel Core i9-9900K at 5Ghz, Corsair Hydro H100i RGB PLATINUM CPU cooler, Asus ROG STRIX Z390-E,Motherboard, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super 8GB GDDR6, G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Memory, 500GB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS M.2 PCIe,2TB Samsung 860 QVO Solid State Drive, 2TB, 2 x Samsung 860 Evo 2TB, 1 x 1TB Samsung 860 Evo, Corsair RM650x 80 PLUS Gold 650W PSU.
April 1, 200521 yr If using WinXP try 61.76 which quite a few of my XP friends find the best so far. Others swear by the 56.72.For Win9x either 61.76 or 56.64whql. I prefer the latter for my own 5900.
April 1, 200521 yr Author Thanks for the replies, will try all of them. April 4, 200521 yr I would try XG 76.41s or the leaked 72.22s, both can be found at guru3d.com ..-Dan
April 8, 200521 yr I could use some advice too. I'm currently engaged in an elusivebattle with CTDs that don't leave much of a clue about their origin. Some have suggested video drivers.Currently I'm using a GeForce FX 5700 (BFG Tech) 4X-8X AGP with 256 DDR RAM. Drivers are 61.77System Specs: Intel D845BG Mobo, Intel P4A Northwood 2G, 512 DDR RAM, Win XP HomeAny help choosing a few driver options and where I can get them would be very helpful.ThanksRick
April 8, 200521 yr Rick,You'd probably be better off posting a new thread as you can't change the heading of this one and it fdoesn't really help people identify your thread and problem. When you say that there isn't much of a clue do you mean it just crashes to the desktop without an error message? If so, then the first thing to check is the power supply. If you mean that FS just collapses back to the desktop then it could be drivers, but the 61.77 set should be among the most stable ever. However, you may have some leftovers from a previous driver set so run Driver Cleaner Pro and reinstall the drivers from scratch. Also check you are up to date with mobo and chipset drivers.Allcott
