helo folks out there i have a question on my vid card.first of here is my systemAMD 3200+Soyo motherboard120 hard drive760 meg of ramRadeon X850 XT Video Card, 8x AGP, 256MB GDDR3the vid card that i upgraded from was the radeon pro 256.in my flight sim im running a duel monitor, on my main screen im running and advanced airplane(the737 pmdg and the atr 72) , with everything turned up , on the groung im getting low fram rates at about 6.5 to 8 frames per second , in the air high up i might get 10 to 12 frames per sec, and way out in the open i will get 12 to 17 frames per sec.with my new card im getting about the same rate, i have a feeling that i might have not gotten the right frame rate with my old card. other than downloading the latest drivers from ATI on my new card , what are ways that i can know that my card is working to its top performance.this card is top of the line and in my opinion i should see blazzing speeds even if i have everything turned up.i also was told that flight sim software out of most software is the most demanding on your CPU and vid card, is that the case or am i missing somthing .are these cards made for fisrt person shooter games or will these highly expensive cards good for flight sims.thanks...........................Robert

Have you installed the chipset drivers for your motherboard? They are usually available from the motherboard manufacturer. While you're at it, check to see if DirectX 9.0c is installed by running dxsetup at the Start>Run dialog box. That will also tell you whether AGP Texture Acceleration is enabled, which if not, is another good indicator of the need to install the chipset drivers. That vidoecard should be good for just about anything you can throw at it given the limitations of your CPU in FS9 and other games requiring a very powerful CPU and GPU. With your new card, you should be able to run 6X AA and 16X AF at a very high resolution with very little impact on FPS.

As for if those cards is for FPS more than for flight simulation? They is for both but you will definiatly see the biggest difference which is astronomical between your old and your current video card in fps games.FPS games live high on it
