May 1, 200521 yr I want to start building a new PC in the next few weeks, but I really dont have any idea where to start. This will be my first one, so If you know any good sites that would help me out please post them. I dont want to spend more than 900 USD.Thanks,Matt
May 1, 200521 yr Hi Matt, a good place to start is.... .....Avsim! But your question is very global and fills truckloads of literature. Are you looking for assembly info? Component advice? Please be more specific? I think it's a great idea to build your own despite the wet hands when doing it for the first time! Good luck and kind regards Jaap PS, in case, the most important detail (IMHO) is how you'll visualize the game --> display/resolution
May 2, 200521 yr You can find very detailed step-by-step instructions on tomshardware.com. It was posted like a year ago but still should be available there.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg Michael J.
May 2, 200521 yr In addition to Michael's suggestion to go to Tom's Hardware, Intel has a very good guide on their site. Then, when you're ready to buy, I suggest visiting pricewatch.com for the best prices. Have fun building!Jim
