XP SHUTDOWN

Featured Replies

Sometimes when I shut down my computer (XP Home) I get a message indicating a problem with closing svchost.exe. The computer shuts down OK and next time I restart it asks if I want to send a message to MS about it. I don't bother and my computer runs OK.It seems this happens if I shut down immediately after closing FS9 and doesn't seem to happen if I wait a while after closing FS9. I deduce that FS9 is still trying to tidy up when the computer tries to shut down. Anyone else noticed this?

As a start, update and run your anti-virus program. That error message usually comes as a result of a virus. There are other reasons, but that one happens a lot. Finally, when given the option to send a report to Microsoft, go ahead and do it. Sometimes, there is a common fix in their system and you will get a link in return that may resolve your issue. Hope this helps you.Kind Regards,Bobby
