wide screen monitor

Featured Replies

Hi, I think this is the correct forum for this question? I am looking at a new dell and I see that they are offering the wide aspect flat screen monitors. My question is will the flight sim be distorted in wide screen mode or will the sim require the 4.3 aspect with gray bars on the sides?Jack WilsonDell8300Pent.R4CPU 3.0 GhzXP-Pro1.00 GB of Ram256MB DDR ATI Radeon 9800 XTSB AudigyDell 19" MonitorCable ModemCH Yoke-Pedals

Do a search ..this has been discussed before. The DELL Widescreen is simply awesome monitor for Fsim.. in VC mode..there is no distortion whatso ever. In 2D mode the panels (but not the outside view) do get stretched which makes the dials oval.. however if you move your cursor to the right edge, you can resize just the 2d Panel window. and you could display the radio panel or any other panel that you like in the right side and save the flight. So next time when you load the plane even the 2D would look ok.Hope that makes sense.I got the 24" Widescreen ... and am simply loving it. The color are vivid and brilliant....better than my 19"CRTs.
