July 1, 200520 yr Hello,I just wanted to comment on FS9 and 2 GB of RAM. I upgraded today, disable my swap file, and I must say I've seen much of improvement! Mainly noticed less stutters and of course faster loading times. If someone asked me if it's worth getting 1 GB ontop of 1 GB, I'd straightly say YES! Definitely worth! Thus, it only makes sense if you are running addons - which push FS9 over 1GB limit (easy to check: if you have 1GB, disable swap in control panel, reboot and load FS9 - see if you get low memory message or any other problems for that matter). After upgrade, I have nooooooo problems whatsoever! Thanks for reading!
July 9, 200520 yr You sure sound convinced! I became very unconvinced when I installed RamDriveNT, which allowed me to change the swap file to RAM, and I noticed that with no swapping to HDD, I had no change in perf with my 1GB ram system. Since I STILL had at least 300mb of physical ram that never got touched, I'm having a hard time seeing what an extra GB would do for me.Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. I am convinced and I stay convinced.
