September 11, 200520 yr THe people who make Mega Scenery recommended that the files be placed on a second hard drive to speed up scenery loading. I got a second HD and the result is amazing. There are no more tiles that come up slowly. All Megascenery areas are in full view as I scan from virtual cockpit. Is there any way this could be applied to the default scenery setup in FS9? That is, is there a way to get the default scenery transferred to a second hard drive to speed up loading? Thanks,Bruce
September 11, 200520 yr And I have a question regarding formatting of additional large volumes. I'm about to add a 160 GB disk to my system. How should I format it? As one large volume or several smaller (what size?) volumes? Thanks,Thomas
September 11, 200520 yr Unless you have a very specific reason for wanting multiple partitions I would format the entire drive as one partition. Is there anything special you're doing (multiple OS installs, etc) that requires more than one partition?Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. September 11, 200520 yr No,in the past I understood that due to cluster size issues, making smaller partitions was better for performance and disk space. Is this not true anymore? Thanks,Thomas
