October 11, 200520 yr I own the CH USB rudder pedals and haven't been happy with them since I got them. Even after I adjust the null zones and sensitivities, they don't operate very well. The braking is always extremely sensitive, especially in my smaller GA aircraft. The rudder inputs are also very disproportionate. Now, my left toe brake doesn't work.Is there someway that I can configure the pedals to work the best way? Coule somebody tell me how they have it setup, or maybe suggest another set of pedals? Thanks,Tim
October 11, 200520 yr Hi Tim,very many of us use these controls. They may be the best for the money.Sorry your not happy with them. Granted they will never feel like the controls in a real plane,so do those controls differ with different planes.I would continue to adjust them to your feel.Have you the CH Control Manager V3.60? If not ,its available from CHproducts on line.I find this most helpful for calibrating, Good LuckVIN
October 11, 200520 yr Hi Tim,First off use the CH Contorl Manager VIN mentions or use the Windows game controller calibration to see if your pedals and brakes are responding correctly. Move each brake and then the rudder and see if the progress bars move smoothly, if they don't, and the pedals are new, I would return them for replacement. If the rudder and brakes appear to work OK in calibration then the problems you are having is done to your FS settings.I set my pedals up via a registered version of Pete Dowson's FSUIPC but you should be able to get reasonable settings from FS.I also find the brakes a bit keen for the Cessna and other small GA's and also difficult to get equal braking left and right. In FS the brake axis need to be reversed, maybe you have one reversed and not the other. The rudder axis does not need to be reversed.Try brake and rudder sensitivites to about half way with no null zone, or you may find a bit of null zone useful on the rudder.Just play about with the sensitivity settings until they feel right for you. With the CH Control Manager you can change the movement rate from linear to something that will increase movement the more you deflect the brakes/rudder, that may help.Good luck.
