Well, seems some nice cards, are coming down in price...found this one in the store a week or so ago.. and was curious to ask about it... I was told it would come down even more from its current 299 mark to around 199..http://www.compusa.com/products/product_in...2729&pfp=BROWSEWhat kind of performance gain could i expect if i upgrade???Check specs in sig.. :)thanks guys! :-wave

Hi,I just got myself one of those...I couldn't wait for the price drop as my old 9700pro had given up the struggle...I am amazed with the card so far... I really thought my processor (P4 2.8) was my weak point but now I realize it was as much the old graphics card.I also see image quality improvments.By the way Circuit City have 6800's at 199 ( after 100 mail in rebate.. so no good for me as I was only in the US for 1 night )I am very happy with my 850pro. Frankly, I'd get a Geforce 6800GT anytime over ATI. I recently upgraded from a Radeon 9800 Pro and the difference is stunning. But that's just my personal opinion. I do not have any experience with the card you mentioned, but I have seen a few threads of dissapointed users who have seen little increase in performance from the ATI X series cards. I'd also not get a card from CompUsa since they're usually at least 10-30% more expensive compared to newegg.com.Good luck!!

Hi,Yes I run AA4x and AF8x and keep my frames locked at 25 now..only drops at the known really heavy airports with 100% UT traffic. Before my 9700pro was struggling with frames locked at 20.So yes I have seen a good increase in frame rates. Most significantly though I have seen an increase in the texture draw times ( on view change ). I was having a real problem with that before but now it's perfect.I would recommend shopping around. Newegg has good prices. I was forced to shop in compusa/circuit city because I am not resident in US and only passing through for 24 hours.About the ATI against Nvidia debate... well I used to be in the nvidia camp but had some bad experiences and so moved to the ATI camp and have been very happy since. I wont lie... some people bash on ati and praise nvidia, and vise versa, but i think in the end, you wont see a hug improvement or advantage in the 2 cards thats equal in power, from each company. IE, X800 vs 6800... Both have their strong and weak points... But in the end, i think they both do just as good. When it comes down to it, i believe its just preference..I think it just depends on your system and whether it likes the card or not... But for now, i am very happy with ATI... I do pretty well, but i would like to upgrade. Now that the X850 is down, i think i might ###### it. Its still a fairly high powered card and should run FS10 easily when the time comes...
