Need advice on a LCD display for FS2004 ...

Featured Replies

I have a Samsung 193P. It is fantastic, but very slow for FS2004 (20 ms latency). So I am looking for a quicker display (with good colors: I mean black to be black and not grey) of 19, 20 or 21 inches.Any experience?Regards, thanks in advance.

Not an expert, but from what I gather there is no such thing as true black with any LCD, though I'm sure some overcome this shortcoming of design better than others. I will be curious to see if anyone here responds with some better news. I am loathing the day this behemoth dies as it truly is a wonderful image, and it is a 2y old top o the line Sony, which they do not make anymore for N. American market as far as I can see. If I could buy another I would! Instant response times, true black, .22 aperture grille pitch. I am lucky because the original Sony 19" with similar specs that retailed for $1085 5y ago, died just short of its 3y warranty, and Sony sent me a new (manufacture date was 2mo before i received it) 21" with these specs that two years ago sold for $1,700. As I say, they don't make them for this market anymore, but there is nothing in the LCD arena that can touch its raw specs and IQ is IMO, as good as it gets. I hope when this dies there is something decent in the LCD world. I know they are in many ways fantastic, but there is something quite flat and artificial about the IQ IMO, and I'm sure it's a bias that will vanish eventually for me. I use a 19" LCD at work every day so I'm not a total novice on LCD use.Noel
