ATi drivers XP64 Pro

Featured Replies

Ciao to all,I've up graded my pc to a AMD 2.8 64Bit with XP Professional installed...I've a Creative RAdeon 9800Xt video card so I downloaded the latest ATi drivers 5-13Xp64But when I execute the .exe file I get the error:" ERROR INF.Can't find Video driver"...so I click "OK" and I get the msg:"SETUP couldn't complete the installation.Try to install a standard VGA video driver before executing SETUP"So what do I have to do???In the mean time I'Ve installed the 5-13 XP ATI drivers and they do work fine...How come I can't get the drivers 5-13 XP64 Pro working???Seems to me I've this " .INF" file missing??

I expect that unless you have the Windows XP 64bit operating system these drivers won't work for you. You indicate you have XP Pro, not XP64. Check drivers for regular 32bit XP (Pro and Home).

In SYSTEM I see:Windows XP ProfessionalVersion 2002Service Pack 2002COMPUTER AMD Athlon 64 Processor 2800+So i guess u're right the OS isn't correct for the drivers....Is XP64 Pro faster the normal xp??

I don't have it, but I'd check the pinned thread at the top of this forum re XP64 experience and info.Cheers

Unless you're running XP64 (which you're not) then you don't want 64bit drivers. The Athlon is a 64bit capable chip but it's being run in the 32bit XP environment.
